The Interdepartmental Commission of Ukraine on International Trade started the anti-subsidy investigation into the car import from Uzbekistan.
This agency reported in the newspaper Uryadovy Kurier, НВ reports quoting Uryadovy Kurier.
The investigation was initiated, based on the complaint of the branch association Ukravtoprom.
It is noted that the complaint provided enough information that indicated that Uzbek car manufacturers could receive subsidies from Uzbekistan government and enjoy certain benefits of such subsidies.
The report said that during the investigation period (2015-2017) there was a significant increase in the volume of car imports from Uzbekistan: in absolute terms - by 760.7%, in terms of consumption and production in Ukraine - by 440.7% and 957.7% respectively.
Prices of car imports were lower than those of the applicant.
The investigation was ordered to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
Within 30 days from the date of publication of the announcement, the Ministry of Economy will register stakeholders and consider the requirements for hearings.
